Ingredients


1/4 cup Toor dal

2 tomatoes

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

2 tsp tamarind pulp

1/2 tsp peppercorns

2 tsp cumin seeds

5 garlic cloves

Salt to taste

2 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard

curry leaves

Coriander leaves




Procedure


  • In cooker put Toor dal, chopped tomatoes and turmeric powder with 3 cups of water and take 4-5 whistles

  • Open the lid and transfer it into a vessel and blend it little

  • Dry roast cumin and peppercorns and crush with garlic

  • Add this to rasam with tamarind pulp and make it boil

  • Add salt to taste and temper with mustard and curry leaves

  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves

  • Serve hot with rice and papad
