
Ingredients
1/2 cup boiled Toor dal
2 finely chopped tomatoes
4 finely chopped garlic cloves
2 broken red chillies
1 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
curry leaves
1 tsp cumin seeds/ jeera
1/2 tsp turmeric powder/ Haldi
1/2 tsp pepper powder
4-5 tsp oil
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Salt to taste
o be ground into a fine paste:
3 tbsp fresh coconut
2 green chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Make a fine paste of the above ingredients and keep it aside.
Procedure
In a pan heat oil, add mustard, curry leaves, once it starts crackling, add chopped garlic and fry
Once the garlic becomes brown, add jeera, red chilies, jeera, turmeric powder, and chopped tomatoes
Fry till the tomatoes are cooked well
Add red chilli powder and pepper powder and fry for 2 mins
Put the ground paste and fry a little
Add the boiled dal, salt to taste and water to adjust the consistency
Once the dal is boiled garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
