Ready-made samosa Patti
oil for deep frying
OR
Ingredients for the outer covering:
5 tblsp maida / all-purpose flour
1 tblsp fine soji / semolina// rava
2 tblsp ghee/oil
Salt to taste
For the stuffing:
3 boiled potatoes
1 chopped onion
3 tsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
chopped coriander leaves
Procedure
In a bowl take flour and ghee and rub it with your fingers till it resembles the bread crumbs
Add salt, semolina and mix well
Knead it into a semi hard dough adding water as required
Keep the dough covered for 20 mins
In a pan take oil ,add cumin seeds ,chopped onions and saute for 2 mins
Add all the other spices one by one and fry for a minute
Put the mashed boiled potatoes ,salt and chopped coriander leaves and mix well
Take the samosa pattis and put 2 tblsp of stuffing and fold it
If you are using home made outer covering then shape into samosa and brush with little oil and bake it i the pre heated oven for 15-20 mins at 180 degrees
Serve hot with ketchup or chutney.
