Bangda Ghashi / Mackerel Curry


Ingredients


2 bangda/ mackerel fish

1 onion finely chopped

1-inch ginger finely chopped

2 green Chillies chopped

4 tsp coconut oil

Salt to taste


For the masala paste

1 cup grated fresh coconut

gooseberry size tamarind

4-5 red Chillies roasted in little oil

Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste and keep aside.




Procedure

  • Wash and clean the fish, cut into medium size pieces

  • Apply little salt to the fish and keep aside.

  • Put the ground masala in a vessel, add salt, chopped onion, ginger and green chillies

  • Make it boil for 5 mins, now add the fish and cook till the fish is cooked, for about 10 mins

  • Finally, add the coconut oil and switch off the flame

  • Serve hot with hot rice and enjoy.
