Batate paej upkari is a simple potato dish prepared with minimum ingredients. Can be relished with hot rice or Ganji/congee/Paej. Very quick and easy recipe.
Ingredients
2 boiled potatoes
2 slit green chillies
2 tbsp grated coconut
Salt to taste
For the tempering:
3 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
1 sprig of curry leaves
2 red chillies broken
1/2 tsp hing/ asafoetida
Procedure
Peel the boiled potatoes and chop the potatoes
Slightly crush some potatoes with your hands, add 1 cup water,salt, slit green chillies and grated coconut
Make it boil for 10 mins, switch off the flame
Add the tempering with the ingredients mentioned
Serve hot with rice.
