Ingredients
2 cups wheat flour
1 tsp ajwain/ carom seeds
Salt 1 tsp
Oil 2 tblsp
Water as needed
For the filling:
Oil 1 tblsp
1 cup besan
1 finely chopped onion
Spices as per your taste like red chilli powder,hing, jeera pdr, coriander powder
Oil for deep frying
Procedure
Heat a pan ,add oil ,put hing/ asafoetida
Add chopped onions, saute for 2 mins
Add besan, salt, red chilli pdr and other spices and mix well
Saute for 2 mins, add chopped coriander leaves, and the filling is ready
For the dough take wheat flour in a bowl, add ajwain, salt and oil to it and knead the dough
Keep the dough covered for 15 mins
Divide it into portions and make balls
Roll each ball into a small poori keep the filling in the middle and enclose from all the sides, flatten them once again
Heat oil, fry the kachoris on a medium flame till they become crisp and golden brown
Serve hot with chutney and a cup of tea.
