Boondi Ladoo

Ingredients


2 cups sugar

1 cup water

1 1/2 cups besan/Bengal gram flour

1 tsp cardamom powder

few saffron strands

oil for deep frying

2 tsp ghee

yellow food colour(optional)




Procedure


  • In a Kadai put water, sugar and keep on a medium flame and boil it till you get the one thread string consistency

  • Put off the flame and add Kesar, cardamom powder, color, and ghee

  • Simultaneously in another Kadai keep enough oil to fry boondi.

  • Mix besan with enough water to make a thick batter of dropping consistency

  • Now take a big spoonful of the batter and pour it through a boondi making pan into a medium heat oil

  • Take out boondis after 2 mins, they should not be crisp

  • Put the boondis into the sugar syrup, keep doing this till all the batter is used up

  • Keep stirring boondis in syrup intermittently

  • The mix will thicken in 30-40 mins and then make ladoos.
