
Ingredients
1 sliced Onion
1 green chilli
1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp roasted Jeera powder
1/2 tsp Corriander powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
2 tsp Chole Masala
1/2 cup boiled Chana
2 cups Basmati rice
For the Chole Masala :
1 tsp cumin
2 cloves
12 Peppercorns
1 Cinnamon stick(1 inch)
1 Mace(Javitri)
12 Sookha Amla
Procedure
In a cooker heat 3 tsp oil, fry the sliced onion with green chilli and ginger-garlic paste.
Now add Jeera powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and chole masala. fry till the masalas lose their rawness.
Now add the boiled chana, rice and salt to taste. Add 3 1/2 cups of water.
Keep the cooker on high flame for two whistles.
In between the cooking process, lift the weight(whistle) 2-3 times. This will prevent the rice grains from sticking.
NOTE: You can also use the leftover chole for this.
