This is a traditional GSB style crab curry called KURLE AMBAT, means crab curry tempered with onion. The curry is flavoured with onion. The same curry may be prepared with Silverfish, Ladyfish etc. Tastes awesome with hot rice
Ingredients
3 crabs, cleaned n cut into pieces
Salt to taste
For the masala:
1 cup grated coconut
little tamarind
4-5 red chillies roasted in little oil
Grind these ingredients into a fine paste and keep aside
For the tempering:
2 finely chopped onions
6 tsp oil
Procedure
Put the cleaned fish pieces, masala paste, salt in a broad vessel, add water and adjust the consistency
Make it boil till the fish is cooked, takes around 15 mins
In a pan take oil and fry the chopped onions till dark brown and add this tempering to the prepared curry
Serve hot with hot rice.
