Crab Sukkha






Ingredients


2 crabs, cleaned and cut into pieces

5 tsp oil

2 chopped onions

curry leaves

Salt to taste

1 finely grated fresh coconut (only white part)


For the masala paste:

1 tsp oil

3 tsp coriander seeds

2 tsp cumin seeds

5 garlic cloves

1/2 tsp mustard

5 methi /fenugreek seeds

4 peppercorns

8-10 red chillies (byadgi or Kashmiri)




Procedure

  • In oil roast the above-mentioned masala ingredients and grind to a fine paste and keep aside

  • In a pan heat oil and saute curry leaves and chopped onions till it becomes light brown

  • Add crab pieces and cook for 10 minutes

  • Put the masala paste with little water and cook for another 10 minutes

  • Add salt and grated coconut and toss well till it becomes dry

  • Serve hot with any rice.
