Dal Kachori

Kachori is a very popular Rajasthani snack. Kachoris are basically deep-fried, crisp pooris with stuffing. Dal kachori is stuffed with dal and spices.

you can also prepare the stuffing with potato/ onion / green peas/ or moong dal. Serve kachori with tamarind chutney, green chutney, or red chili garlic chutney.

Ingredients


1/2 cup urad dal (split black gram)

2 tsp oil

2 tsp jeera powder 2 tsp chaat masala

1 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Salt to taste

Sugar to taste

Oil for frying


For the dough:


2 cups maida

2 tbsp oil

Salt to taste

Mix these ingredients and make a stiff dough and keep covered for 1/2 an hour


Procedure


  • Soak dal for 2 hours and grind coarsely without water

  • In a pan put 2 tsp oil and add dal paste and fry for 5- 10 minutes

  • Add all spices, salt, and sugar to taste and mix well

  • Make a lemon size ball of the dough and flatten lit a little

  • Keep 2 tsp dal mixture and cover all the sides and make a ball

  • Roll the ball into a 3 inches disc and deep fry into a golden color

  • Serve hot with sweet and green chutney
