Daliya Kheer /Broken wheat payaysam

Ingredients

3/4 cup Wheat Daliya

3 cups Milk

1.5 cups Sugar

1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

2 tsp Ghee

Roasted nuts for Garnishing




Procedure


  • Slightly roast wheat daliya with 1 tsp ghee in a cooker.

  • Add 2 cups of water, cover with the lid and cook till the daliya becomes soft ( around 4-5 whistles).

  • Transfer this into a vessel and add the milk and sugar and boil it for 5-10 mins.

  • Garnish with cardamom powder and nuts.

  • It can be served hot or cold.

  • NOTE: You can substitute sugar with jaggery and also use coconut milk instead of regular milk.
