Dry fruit obbattu/ Holige




Ingredients


1/4 cup almond

1/4 cup cashew nuts

1/4 cup raisins

5 seedless dates

2 roasted sesame seeds

3 tbsp desiccated coconut

1 tsp cardamom powder

Sugar powder as per taste


Ingredients for the outer covering/ Kanaka:


1 cup maida / all-purpose flour + 2 tbsp for dusting

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

2 tbsp oil

Water as needed to knead the dough

Mix maida turmeric powder in a bowl, adding water knead a very soft dough. Add oil and knead again, put 2 tsp oil over the dough and keep covered for 1 hour




Procedure

  • Blend almonds, cashew nuts, raisins, sesame seeds, chopped dates in the mixer, put in a bowl, add desiccated coconut, sugar powder, and cardamom powder to it and mix well

  • Divide the outer covering and stuffing into equal portions and make balls ( make the stuffing ball double the size of the outer covering ball)

  • Roll the dough into a small poori, keep the stuffing and cover the stuffing properly

  • Roll it again into a poli and roast it on tava in a medium flame

  • Cook both the sides till it is browned, put on a paper

  • Once it comes to room temperature store it in an airtight container

  • Serve with fresh ghee.
