Gobi Manchurian

Manchurian is a class of Indian Chinese dishes made by roughly chopping and deep-frying the main ingredient like chicken, cauliflower, prawn, fish, mutton, or paneer, mushroom, and then sautéeing it in a sauce flavored with soy sauce.







Ingredients

1 cup Gobi/ cauliflower cut into florets and put in warm water with salt

5 tsp oil + oil for deep frying

1 onion chopped

1 green chilli chopped

5 garlic cloves finely chopped

1/2 inch ginger chopped

2 tsp tomato ketchup

2 tsp red chilli paste

1 tsp soya sauce

1 tsp vinegar

2 -3 tsp CHINGS CHILLI MASALA PDR

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing


For the marination:

4tblsp cornflour

2 tblsp rice flour

1 tsp chilli powder

Salt to taste

Make a paste of these ingredients, marinate the gobi florets and deep fry into crisp fritters and keep aside



Procedure


  • In a pan heat oil, fry garlic, ginger, and green chilies chopped till light brown in color

  • Add onion chopped and saute for a while, followed by red chili paste and fry for 2 mins

  • Add soya sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and mix well

  • Add Chings masala pdr, 1/4 cup water, and salt to taste

  • Add the fried gobi fritters and toss well, check for the salt and garnish with chopped coriander leaves

  • Serve hot with any rice or noodles.
