Govind Laadu / Poha Laadu

As you all know Govind ie Krishna loves Poha and this Laddu is made from Poha, jaggery, and lots of nuts. So the name of this laddu is Govind laadu/laddu.





Ingredients

2 cups beaten rice/poha/avalakki

3-4 tsp ghee

1 cup peanuts

2 tbsp chopped almonds

2 tbsp chopped cashew nuts

1/2 cup grated dry coconut

2 tsp white sesame seeds/ Til

1 tsp khus khus/poppy seeds

1/2 cup powdered jaggery

1 tsp cardamom powder/elaichi powder



Procedure

  • Heat one tsp oil in a pan, add poha/beaten rice, and roast on a low medium flame till they turn light brown and crisp. Transfer it to a plate.

  • Put peanuts in the same pan and roast till it turns crisp and brown

  • Transfer it to a plate. Next add chopped nuts, coconut gratings, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds in the same pan and toast it for 2 minutes.

  • Grind roasted poha into a powder and put in a bowl.

  • Put roasted peanuts and nuts in the mixer jar and make a slightly coarse powder.

  • Put jaggery powder in it and grind for a second.

  • Put the mixture in the bowl, with beaten rice powder.

  • Add elaichi powder and one teaspoon ghee.

  • Combine everything well and make laddus. Add extra ghee if needed.

  • Store in an airtight container.
