Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice
2 sliced onions
1/4 cup green peas
1/4 cup cauliflower florets
1 finely chopped carrot
5-6 tsp oil or ghee
2 cloves
1/2 inch cinnamon
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing
2 fresh bread slices cut into cubes and deep-fried
Oil for deep frying bread
For the masala paste:
1/2 cup coriander leaves
1/2 inch ginger
5 garlic cloves
3 green chillies
Make a fine paste and keep it aside.
Procedure
In cooker heat oil or ghee and saute clove, cinnamon, and slices onion till onion becomes transparent
Add the ground masala and fry till the raw smell goes
Add turmeric powder, rice and fry for 5 minutes
Put veggies, salt to taste, and 1 1/2 cups water
Mix well and close the lid of the cooker
After 2 whistles switch off the gas
After the steam is released open the lid and gently mix the pulav with a fork
Serve hot with fried bread pieces and chopped coriander leaves.
