Green Pulav





Ingredients


1 cup basmati rice

2 sliced onions

1/4 cup green peas

1/4 cup cauliflower florets

1 finely chopped carrot

5-6 tsp oil or ghee

2 cloves

1/2 inch cinnamon

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves for garnishing

2 fresh bread slices cut into cubes and deep-fried

Oil for deep frying bread


For the masala paste:

1/2 cup coriander leaves

1/2 inch ginger

5 garlic cloves

3 green chillies

Make a fine paste and keep it aside.




Procedure

  • In cooker heat oil or ghee and saute clove, cinnamon, and slices onion till onion becomes transparent

  • Add the ground masala and fry till the raw smell goes

  • Add turmeric powder, rice and fry for 5 minutes

  • Put veggies, salt to taste, and 1 1/2 cups water

  • Mix well and close the lid of the cooker

  • After 2 whistles switch off the gas

  • After the steam is released open the lid and gently mix the pulav with a fork

  • Serve hot with fried bread pieces and chopped coriander leaves.
