Gudpapdi

Gudpapdi is a traditional Gujarati dish made from wheat flour and jaggery, typically prepared during auspicious occasions in Gujarati households.

Ingredients

1 cup wheat flour/atta

5 tbsp ghee

3/4 cup powdered jaggery

1 tsp cardamom powder

8 chopped almonds

Procedure

  • Heat ghee in a kadai, roast the flour in a medium flame until color changes and you get a nice aroma

  • Once the flour turns golden brown, turn off the flame, add the cardamom powder and powdered jaggery

  • Make sure to use the jaggery without lumps

  • Once the jaggery melts, transfer it to a greased plate and level it.

  • Cut into desired shapes and let it cool

  • Store in an airtight jar once it comes to room temperature
