Halasina Hannina Payasa/Jackfruit Payasam

Ingredients

5 ripe jackfruit segments cut into pieces

2 cups coconut milk

2 tsp rice flour

Jaggery to taste

1 tsp cardamom powder

Nuts and raisins roasted in ghee for garnishing





Procedure

  • In a pan take 1/4 cup water and jackfruit pieces and cook till they become soft

  • Once they are cooked add jaggery, cook till jaggery melts

  • Add coconut milk and make it boil for 5-10 minutes

  • Mix rice flour in little water and make a smooth paste and add to the payasam .

  • Keep stirring continuously till it boils and becomes thick

  • Garnish with nuts and cardamom powder

  • Serve hot
