Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice
6 tsp oil or ghee
1 big onion sliced
1/4 cup green peas
10 french beans chopped
1 tsp biryani masala pdr
1/2 tsp turmeric pdr
Salt to taste
1 tsp lemon juice
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
For the green masala paste:
5-6 palak/spinach leaves
2 green chillies
1/2 inch ginger
5-6 garlic cloves
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
5 mint leaves
2 cloves/lavang
1/2 inch cinnamon/ dalchini
Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste and keep aside
Procedure
Wash and soak rice in water for 20 mins
In cooker heat oil, add sliced onions, and saute till they turn transparent
Now add the masala paste and fry till the raw smell goes
Add the veggies, spice powders and fry for 5 mins
Drain water from the ice and drop it into the cooker, fry for 5 mins
Add salt to taste, lemon juice, and 1.5 cups of water
Close the lid of the cooker and cook for 2 whistles
Once the steam is released open the lid and mix the pulav gently
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with raita.
