Hariyali Biscuit Rotti

Biscuit rotti is a part of Konkani cuisine which is very popular in Mangalore. This is just like kachori but the masala is different. For a change tried it with adding spinach puree.





Ingredients


For dough:

2 tblsp cup chiroti rava

1/4 cup maida

1/2 cup wheat flour

Salt to taste

3 tsp hot oil

4 tsp palak puree

Knead the dough with the above ingredients with little water into a hard dough

Oil to deep fry


For the filling:


1/4 cup grated finely grated coconut

4 tsp urad dal

4 tsp chiroti rava

4 crushed green chillies

8 curry leaves

1/2 tsp hing powder (assafoetida)

2 tsp oil

Salt to taste




Procedure


  • In a pan take 2 tsp oil add mustard, curry leaves, green chillies and urad dal

  • Fry till dal becomes brown

  • add Rava, hing and grated coconut and fry for 5 minutes

  • Stuffing is ready

  • Roll small puris and keep 2 tsp filling mixture in it and close it

  • Roll it again into thick puris and deep fry into crisp puris

  • your biscuit rotti is ready to eat

  • Serve with any chutney if necessary
