Khakra is a traditional Gujarati snack, prepared with whole wheat atta with different flavors like methi/fenugreek, garlic, ajwain, etc. In this recipe, some Italian herbs are used.
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tsp oil
salt to taste
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp red chilli flakes
1/2 tsp mixed herbs
water as required
Procedure
Mix all the ingredients and knead the medium-soft dough
Keep for 15 minutes
Divide the dough into equal portions
Roll each ball into a thin chapati/roti applying little oil
Heat tava and roast it on a low flame
Press it with one cloth or wooden press and roast both sides adding 2 tsp of oil.
Roast till it turns crisp and golden brown.
Store in an airtight container, once it comes to room temperature.
Mash 1 potato, add salt to taste, little sugar,2 tsp cheese spread,2 tsp curd,2 tsp chopped bell peppers, and 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes. Mix all these and your dip is ready to eat.
