Kadala curry or Kerala-style black chickpea curry is a quintessential dish in every Malayalee household. It’s a very popular dish to serve with puttu, appam, and dosa and also eaten with idiyappam or string hoppers, paratha, and boiled red rice for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients
1 cup soaked and boiled brown chana
3 tsp oil
Salt to taste
for the masala:
In a pan heat 2 tsp oil and roast 1/2 chopped onion,1 tsp coriander seeds,3 garlic cloves,3 tblsp grated coconut, and 4 red chilies till it becomes light brown in color
Cool it and grind to a smooth paste
For the Tempering:
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
curry leaves
Procedure
Take boiled chana in a vessel,add salt to taste and ground masala and make it boil
Temper with the ingredients and serve with appam.
