Karwari Style Fish Masala fry


Ingredients

4 slices of kingfish/ surmai/Anjal / visonu

5 tsp oil

1onion finely chopped

1 sprig of curry leaves

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander leaves

2 tsp Lemon juice


For the masala paste:

1 roughly chopped onion

4 cloves garlic

1/2 inch ginger piece

10 byadgi or Kashmiri red chillies

1 tsp coriander seeds

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp oil

Roast the above ingredients in oil for 5 mins and make a fine paste




Procedure

  • Wash the fish well and apply little salt and keep

  • Heat oil in a pan, put curry leaves, chopped onions and saute until it becomes light brown

  • Add the ground masala as per your taste and fry for 5 mins

  • Add 1/4 cup water, salt to taste, mix well and keep the fish slices in the masala and cook

  • After 5 mins, flip the fish slices and cook another side

  • Once the fish is cooked, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice

  • Serve hot with rice, ghee rice or noodles.
