Kerala style Prawns


Ingredients


10 prawns deveined and cleaned

2 teaspoon +2 tsp coconut oil or refined oil

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp pepper pdowder

salt to taste

1 tsp mustard

curry leaves

1 broken red chilli

1 finely sliced onion

2 tsp red chilli powder

1 tsp lime juice

Chopped coriander leaves


Procedure

  • In a pan heat 2 tsp oil and saute prawns with salt, turmeric powder, pepper powder for 5 minutes or till it becomes light brown

  • Transfer it in a bowl and in the same pan put 2 tsp oil, add mustard when it crackles add curry leaves, broken red chilli, onion slices and fry till onion becomes translucent

  • add chilli powder and fry for a minute

  • Put the roasted prawns, salt if needed and little water and cook further till it becomes dry

  • Add lime juice and chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
