Lapsi/Broken Wheat Halva







Ingredients


1 cup lapsi/ gehun ka daliya/ broken wheat

2 cups jaggery powder

4 cups water + 1 cup

2 tsp cardamom powder

2 -3 tbsp ghee

Some chopped nuts and raisins





Procedure

  • Put daliya/ lapsi and 1 tbsp ghee in cooker and roast until light brown in color on a medium flame

  • Once it is well roasted add 4 cups water and cook it for 4 whistles or until it is cooked well

  • In a vessel take jaggery and 1 cup water and boil till jaggery dissolves

  • Add cooked lapsi to this liquid jaggery and cook

  • Add the remaining ghee and cook till it becomes dry

  • Garnish with cardamom powder, raisins and nuts roasted in ghee

  • Serve hot and enjoy.
