Lauki Halwa

Lauki ka halwa is a simple Indian sweet recipe made with Bottlegourd/Thurai. Sugar, ghee, and milk. This makes a great after-meal dessert and can be served warm or chilled. Bottle gourd is one of those veggies that is consumed often in Indian homes to make curry, stew, sabzi, paratha, and even halwa.


Ingredients


1cup fine rava/ semolina

3/4 cup sugar/ jaggery

2 cups water

3 tbsp ghee

2 tsp cardamom powder

Chopped nuts




Procedure

  • In a Kadai put grated lauki, milk and cook it covered with a lid

  • When it is cooked add sugar according to your taste and cook for 10- 15 mins

  • Add ghee and toss well

  • Finally garnish with nuts, raisins roasted in ghee

  • Serve hot
