Maiya's Cabbage chutney

Ingredients

1 cup washed and chopped cabbage

1/4 cup chopped onion

2 tsp oil

Lil tamarind

1 tsp coriander seeds/daniya

1/2 tsp cumin seeds/jeera

4-5 methi seeds/fenugreek

2-3 dry red chillies


For the tempering:

1 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard

4 garlic cloves

1 red chilli

1 sprig of curry leaf





Procedure

  • In a pan saute onion for 5 mins

  • Add chopped cabbage, salt and fry till it is cooked

  • Transfer it to a bowl

  • In the same pan put coriander seeds, methi, cumin seeds, red chillies and fry till brown colour

  • When it comes to room temperature grind the fried ingredients with fried cabbage, onion mixture, tamarind, salt to taste with Lil water

  • Temper with the ingredients mentioned.
