This is a toothsome prawn curry made with spicy coconut milk, straight from the land of coconuts and seafood, Kerala. Enjoy this prawn curry with steaming hot rice.
Ingredients
250 gms cleaned, deveined prawns
1/4 cup curds
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
1 sprig of curry leaf
2 finely chopped onion
1/2 inch chopped ginger
2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 cup tomato puree
1/2 cup coconut milk
Procedure
Marinate the prawns with salt and curds, keep for 15 mins
Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves, chopped ginger, and fry for 2 mins
Add onions chopped and fry until golden brown
Add Chilli powder coriander powder and turmeric powder and fry for 2 mins
Add the tomato puree and fry again for 5 mins
Now put the marinated prawns and little water, cook for 10 mins covered with a lid
Now simmer the gas and add the coconut milk and give a quick boil for only 2 mins and switch off the gas
Serve with hot rice or any pulao or fried rice.
