Malwani Matar






Ingredients

1 cup boiled fresh green peas

1 potato cubed

5 tsp oil

1 tsp jeera

2 finely chopped onions

1 finely chopped tomato

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1 tsp Kasuri methi

1/2 tsp turmeric pdr

2 tsp malwani masala pdr or garam masala

3 tsp besan / Bengal gram flour

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander leaves




Procedure

  • Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan, put potato cubes with a little salt, and cook till its outer cover is browned or till it is cooked

  • Remove it on a plate and add the remaining oil to the same pan

  • Add jeera, Kasuri methi, chopped onions and fry till light brown, add the finely chopped tomato and cook till it becomes pulpy

  • Now add the ginger-garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes

  • Add the turmeric pdr, Malwani masala pdr, and fry for a second

  • Put besan and fry for 2 mins, followed by boiled peas, cooked potatoes, salt, and 1/2 cup water

  • Let it boil for 5 mins, garnish with chopped coriander leaves

  • Serve hot with poori, chapati or naan, etc.
