This is the savory version of the very popular Mangalore Bana Buns. Usually, these buns are sweet in taste. But in this recipe, for a change, I added some spices and green chilies. These buns can be had as breakfast or even as a snack. They make a delicious breakfast. Generally, we have them plain with morning tea. But you can have them with some milk or even coconut chutney if you like.
Ingredients
1/2 cup curd
1 1/2 cups maida(approx)
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 overripe bananas
1/2 tsp cooking soda
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2-3 crushed green chillies
2 sprigs of curry leaves finely chopped
Oil for deep frying
Procedure
Take curd, mashed bananas, sugar, salt, cooking soda, crushed green chillies, chopped curry leaves and cumin seeds in a mixing bowl and mix well
After the sugar is dissolved add maida and make a soft dough
Keep the dough covered for 8-10 hours
Divide- the dough into equal portions n roll into a thick puri
Deep fry into golden brown buns
Serve hot with hot coffee or tea
