Masala Dosa





Ingredients


1.5 cups dosa rice/ raw rice

1/2 cup boiled rice/ ukda chaval

2 tsp toor dal

1 tsp methi/fenugreek seeds

1/2 cup urad dal

1/2 cup poha/ avalakki/ beaten rice

Salt to taste

Pinch of sugar

Oil for cooking dosa


Procedure


  • Soak rice, dal, methi in water for 5-6 hrs. Wash soaked rice and poha well

  • Grind all the ingredients into a fine paste

  • Let it ferment for 8 hrs or overnight. Add salt, sugar, and 2 tsp fine rava/ semolina to the batter and mix well

  • Heat tava, sprinkle some water and spread a ladle full of dosa batter, and make thin dosa

  • Drizzle with oil or ghee and cook on a medium flame

  • Serve hot with potato sabzi and coconut chutney
