Matar Mushroom Biryani With Boondi Raitha





Ingredients

1 cup basmati rice

1/4 cup fresh green peas

5 mushrooms

1 big onion sliced

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp biryani masala powder

1 tsp lemon juice

Salt to taste

2 tsp ghee


To make a paste you need:

3 tblsp coriander leaves

5 mint leaves

2 green chillies

1/2 inch ginger

5 garlic cloves

Grind the above ingredients




Procedure

  • Wash and soak rice in water for 30 mins, wash mushrooms and cut into 4 pieces

  • Heat oil in a cooker, saute sliced onions until it becomes transparent

  • Add masala and fry till raw smell goes

  • Add turmeric pdr, biryani masala and fry for 2 mins

  • Drain water from the rice and add rice into the cooker, fry for 5 mins

  • Add chopped mushrooms, green peas, salt to taste and mix well

  • Add lemon juice,1.5 cups water and close the lid

  • Cook for 2 whistles, once the steam is released open the lid add ghee and mix gently with a fork

  • Serve hot with raita.
