Methi Kadhi





Ingredients

1 cup buttermilk

3 tsp besan/ Bengal gram flour

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

Salt to taste


For the tempering:

3 tsp oil

1 tsp jeera/ cumin seeds

1/2 tsp hing / Asafoetida pdr

2 chopped green chillies

1 red chilli

1 sprig of curry leaves

1/4 cup finely chopped methi/fenugreek leaves





Procedure

  • In a bowl take buttermilk, turmeric powder,besan, and mix this to form a smooth mixture

  • Add half a cup of water to it and keep it aside

  • In a pan heat, oil add jeera,hing, curry leaves, red chilli and green chillies, fry for a minute

  • Add the chopped methi leaves , little salt, and fry till they is cooked

  • Add the buttermilk mixture,water to adjust the consistency,salt to taste, and boil till it becomes thick

  • And your kadhi is ready to serve with hot rice and pickle.
