Methi Matar Malai






Ingredients

1 cup fresh green peas (matar)

1/4 cup finely chopped methi leaves(fenugreek leaves)

2 finely chopped medium-sized onions

3 green chillies

4 garlic cloves

1/2 inch ginger

1 tomato( make a paste)

1/2 tsp turmeric powder(Haldi)

1 tsp Kasuri methi

2 tsp cream

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup curds

5 tsp oil

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp sugar

Chopped coriander leaves and cream for garnishing




Procedure

  • Boil the green peas with salt

  • Make a paste of green chillies, ginger and garlic

  • In a pan heat oil and saute chopped onions till translucent

  • Add green chilli paste and fry for 3 minutes

  • Add tomato paste, turmeric powder and fry for 5 mins

  • Add chopped methi leaves and fry for 5 minutes

  • Put boiled matar, salt, sugar, Kasuri methi and mix

  • Add milk, curds, cream and adjust the consistency of the gravy according to your choice.

  • If you want more creamy add more cream

  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and fresh cream

  • Serve hot with roti,naan,phulkas.
