Methi Papdi

This is an Indian style crispy masala crackers/snacks. You can have this with your hot coffee or tea. Plain papdis are served with yoghurt or in bhel puri.





Ingredients

1 cup wheat flour / gehun ka atta

1/4 cup besan/chick pea flour

1/4 cup maida / all-purpose flour

1 tsp ajwain/carom seeds

2 tsp Kasuri methi

2 tsp red chilli flakes

2 tbsp oil + oil for deep frying





Procedure

  • Take wheat flour, besan, maida, salt, ajwain, Kasuri methi, red chilli flakes in a broad bowl and mix well

  • Add 2 tbsp oil and mix

  • Now add water and make a stiff dough and knead well

  • Keep covered it for 20 mins

  • Divide the dough into portions and make small balls as you make for pooris

  • Roll each ball into a thin poori and cut into triangles

  • Heat oil and deep fry on a medium flame till they turn brown and crispy

  • Put them on a tissue paper and let it cool

  • Once they come to room temperature store them in an airtight container.

  • Enjoy with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
