Ingredients
1cup moong dal/skinless split green gram/hesaru bele
3 cups maida/all-purpose flour
2 cups water
Salt to taste
3 tsp sesame seeds/til
1/2 tsp hing/asafoetida
2 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
Procedure
Cook moong dal in cooker with 2 cups water for 3-4 whistles, till it becomes soft
Mash the dal with a spoon and keep in a bowl
Take maida in a cotton cloth and tie the knot, keep it in a steamer and steam it for 20 mins
Transfer the maida to a bowl, roll it with your hands, once it comes to room temperature mix dal and all other ingredients
Add little water only if needed
Heat oil and make chakli or murukku,deep fry into the golden brown crisp murukku
Put the fried murukku on tissue paper and store it in an airtight container once it comes to room temperature.
