Mushroom Pepper fry







Ingredients

250 gms button mushrooms

1 tbsp oil or ghee

1 tsp mustard seeds

Few curry leaves

1 broken red chilli

1 tsp grated ginger

1 big onion sliced

1/2 cup sliced capsicum

Salt to taste


To make a coarse powder:

1 tbsp peppercorn

1 tbsp Coriander seeds / Dhaniya

1 tbsp Cumin seeds / Jeera

1/2 tsp Saunf (optional)

Grind these into a semi-coarse powder and keep them aside.




Procedure

  • Wash and cut mushrooms into halves.

  • Heat oil in a pan and put mustard seeds.

  • Once it starts crackling, add curry leaves, grated ginger, and red chilli bits and saute for a second.

  • Now add the onion slices, and saute for 5 minutes or till they turn transparent.

  • Now it's time to add mushrooms. Mix mushrooms with the sauteed onions well. Now add the capsicum slices and cook for 5 mins, add the masala powder as required. Add salt to taste and mix well.

  • And your mushroom pepper fry is ready to serve.

  • Serve hot with roti, fried rice, ghee rice, or pulav.
