Namkeen Phenori / Chiroti




Ingredients


1 cup maida

2 tbsp wheat flour

2 tsp jeera/cumin powder

2 tsp crushed pepper

3-4 tsp hot oil

Salt to taste

3 tbsp ghee

2 tbsp chiroti rava

Oil for frying



Procedure

  • Combine the ingredients no 1 to no 6 and knead into a stiff dough using enough water.

  • Divide the dough into 3 portions and make balls

  • Roll the ball into a thin roti, apply 2 to 3 tsp ghee over the roti and sprinkle around 1/2 tsp Rava over the roti

  • Roll the roti tightly as you roll the carpet

  • Cut it into 1-inch pieces and roll again into small pooris

  • Deep fry them on oil on a medium flame until it becomes crisp and golden brown

  • Put the fried phenori on tissue paper and store them in an airtight jar once it comes to room temperature.

  • Enjoy this namkeen chirotis with a hot cup of chai or coffee.
