Palak Ke Pakode





Ingredients

10 palak/ spinach leaves

1/2 cup gram flour/ besan

2 tblsp rice flour or cornflour

3/4 tsp red chilli pdr

1/4 tsp turmeric pdr

1/4 pdr hing/asafoetida

Very small pinch cooking soda(optional)

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying




Procedure

  • Wash the palak leaves, keeping the small part of the stem, and wipe them dry

  • Take besan, rice flour,hing, chili pdr, salt, cooking soda, and turmeric pdr in a bowl, adding sufficient water make a thin batter (a little thinner than any other pakoda batter)

  • Heat oil in a Kadai and dip each palak leaf in the batter and deep fryin hot oil till it becomes crisp and golden brown color

  • Drain on to an absorbent paper and serve hot with hot coffee or chai ..enjoy.
