Potato Saagu






Ingredients


2 cups boiled and mashed potatoes

2 tsp besan

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander leaves

1 tsp lemon juice


Ingredients for tempering:

3-4 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard

1 tsp urad dal

1 tsp chana dal

1/2 tsp turmeric pdr

1 sprig of curry leaves

2 chopped green chillies

1/2 inch ginger chopped

1 onion finely chopped





Procedure


  • In a pan heat oil, add mustard, when it starts crackling add curry leaves, urad dal, chana dal, and fry till it becomes light brown

  • Add turmeric pdr, green chillies, ginger chopped, and fry

  • Put chopped onions, fry till transparent

  • Put besan and fry for a minute, then add boiled, mashed potato, salt, and 2 cups water and salt

  • Make it boil for 5 mins, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice

  • Serve hot with rava idli and enjoy.
