Ingredients
1/2 kg prawns
2 onions cut into cubes
2 green chillies
5 finely chopped garlic
1/2 inch ginger piece
5 tsp oil +oil for frying
3 tbsp chopped spring onion
For marination:
4 tbsp cornflour
2 tbsp maida
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
For the sauce:
1/4 cup water
2 tsp cornflour
1 tsp soya sauce
1/2 tsp ketchup
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp vinegar
Mix these ingredients with water and keep aside
Procedure
Wash and clean the prawns and marinate with the above ingredients.
Refrigerate the marinated prawns for 1 hour
Deep fry the prawns till it becomes crisp
In a pan heat oil and saute chopped onion, garlic. ginger, green chillies for 5 minutes on a high flame
Add the sauce prepared
When it starts boiling and becomes thick, add fried prawns and salt to taste and mix well
Garnish with spring onion and serve hot with any rice
