Prawns Pulav



Ingredients


15 prawns cleaned and deveined

1 cup basmati rice washed and soaked in water for 20 mins

6 tsp ghee or oil

1 big onion sliced

2 green chillies slit

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

12 tsp turmeric powder

2 tsp Everest biryani masala pdr

Salt to taste

Chopped coriander leaves


Marinate prawns with:

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp red chilli powder

3 tbsp curd

Salt to taste

Marinate the cleaned prawns and keep for 20 mins




Procedure

  • Drain water from the rice and keep it aside

  • Heat oil, saute onion slices till transparent, add green chillies,ginger-garlic paste and fry for a second

  • Add turmeric powder, biryani masala powder and fry for a second

  • Now add the marinated prawns and cook for 5 mins

  • Add the soaked rice and fry for 5 mins, add salt to taste, 1.5 cups water and close the lid of the cooker

  • Cook for 2 whistles and turn off the flame

  • Once the steam is released, open the lid, add chopped coriander leaves

  • Serve hot with raitha
