Ingredients
15 prawns cleaned and deveined
1 cup basmati rice washed and soaked in water for 20 mins
6 tsp ghee or oil
1 big onion sliced
2 green chillies slit
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
12 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp Everest biryani masala pdr
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves
Marinate prawns with:
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
3 tbsp curd
Salt to taste
Marinate the cleaned prawns and keep for 20 mins
Procedure
Drain water from the rice and keep it aside
Heat oil, saute onion slices till transparent, add green chillies,ginger-garlic paste and fry for a second
Add turmeric powder, biryani masala powder and fry for a second
Now add the marinated prawns and cook for 5 mins
Add the soaked rice and fry for 5 mins, add salt to taste, 1.5 cups water and close the lid of the cooker
Cook for 2 whistles and turn off the flame
Once the steam is released, open the lid, add chopped coriander leaves
Serve hot with raitha
