Sanna idli or Sanna khotto is a Konkani delicacy. A rice batter is ground, it is then mixed with veggies like cabbage and onions, they are then steamed in Idli moulds or jackfruit leaves baskets called khotto to make delicious sanna khotto. These spicy, rice idlis are served hot as a side dish for lunch, dinner with lots of coconut oil on top. You can use any green leafy veggies like palak or methi leaves.

Ingredients
1/2 cup dosa rice
1/4 cup Toor dal
1 cup finely chopped radish leaves
1 onion chopped
3/4 cup grated coconut
4-5 red chillies
little tamarind
Salt to taste
Procedure
Soak rice and dal in water for 1 hr and wash it
Grind coconut, red chillies, tamarind, salt into a fine paste
Then add soaked rice and dal (drain all the water)
Grind into a semi coarse batter, adding little water(batter consistency should be a little thicker than Rava idli batter)
Add chopped radish leaves and onion to the batter
Steam it in greased idli moulds for 15- 20 mins
Serve hot drizzled with coconut oil with rice and dal.
