Roasted Poha

This is a very simple and easy dish, prepared for an evening snack. Roast the beaten rice/poha with red chillies and store them in an airtight container.





Ingredients

2 cups thin poha/beaten rice

1 tsp mustard

Few curry leaves

4-5 red chillies cut into bits

Pinch of turmeric powder/Haldi

2 tsp oil


For serving:

1/2 cup fresh coconut gratings

Salt to taste

Sugar to taste





Procedure

  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard. Once the mustard starts crackling add curry leaves, turmeric powder and red chilli bits.

  • Saute for a second and tip in the poha.

  • Roast it on a low flame till it turns crisp.

  • Mix coconut gratings with salt and sugar.

  • Put roasted poha on a serving plate and top it with the coconut mixture.

  • Mix everything well and enjoy.

  • Store the remaining roasted poha in an airtight container.
