Shankarpali/Tukdi




Ingredients


6 tbsp wheat flour

4 tbsp maida

1 tsp red chilli powder

1/4 tsp asafoetida/hing pdr

2-3 tsp hot oil

1 tsp sugar powder

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying




Procedure

  • Take all the dry ingredients in a big bowl and mix well

  • Add hot oil and water gradually and prepare the dough

  • Knead the dough well and divide into 6 equal portions

  • Roll each portion into thin roti, and cut into diamond-shaped pieces with a pastry cutter

  • Heat oil and deep fry tukdis on a medium flame till brown and crisp stirring continuously

  • Store in an airtight container once it comes to room temperature.
