Ingredients
1 cucumber / Southe Kaayi / Kakdi
Salt to taste
1/2 cup curd
For the masala paste:
1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
1/2 green chilli
1/2 tsp mustard
Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste
For the tempering:
2 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp urad dal
1 sprig of curry leaves
1 broken red chilli
Procedure
Wash and peel the cucumber, cut the ends and chop the cucumber finely
Put the chopped cucumber in one bowl, add salt to taste, ground coconut paste, curds and mix well
Adjust the consistency adding little water and check the salt
Temper it with the ingredients mentioned
Serve chilled with rice and rasam or dal
Tastes heavenly especially in hot summer
