Sweet Corn Rice





Ingredients


1 cup basmati rice

1/4 cup sweet corn pearls

1 big onion cut into slices

1 tsp turmeric powder

5-6 tsp ghee or oil

chopped coriander and mint leaves


For the masala:

1/4 cup coriander leaves

5 garlic cloves

1/2 inch ginger

2 green chillies

Salt to taste

Grind the above ingredients into a fine paste and keep aside




Procedure

  • Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 20 mins

  • In cooker heat oil, saute onion slices till translucent

  • Put the ground masala and fry until the raw smell goes

  • Drain water from soaked rice and put into the cooker with turmeric pdr

  • Fry for 5 mins, add sweet corn, salt to taste,mix well

  • Add 1.5 cups water and cook for 2 whistles

  • Once the steam is released, open the lid, add chopped coriander and mint leaves, serve hot with raita.
