Tandla Gatti/ Steamed Rice Bhakri

Tandla Gatti/ Steamed rice bhakri is a Konkani style rice flour roti that is steamed on a banana leaf. Banana leaf gives this roti a nice flavour. As it is steamed good for health too.





Ingredients


1 cup of boiled rice

3/4 cup grated coconut

Salt to taste

Banana leaf




Procedure

  • Wash and soak the rice in water for 2-3 hrs, grind with coconut into a smooth,semi-thick paste

  • Add salt to taste and mix well

  • Wipe the banana leaf and cut it into big pieces

  • Take one fistful of the batter and spread it on the leaf and slowly fold into roll

  • Heat the idli steamer and steam it for 20 mins

  • Serve hot with chutney or butter or any pickle
