Tandoori roti is an unleavened flatbread and is mostly prepared using wheat flour or a mix of wheat flour and all-purpose flour. This is the easy method of making tandoori rotis at home without an oven or tandoor.
Ingredients
1 cup wheat flour / gehun ka atta
1/4 cup maida/ all-purpose flour (optional)
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup fresh curds
2 tsp ghee
Procedure
In a bowl take wheat flour, maida, add salt, sugar, and baking powder to it. Mix well.
Add curds and mix again. Add little water at a time and make a soft and smooth dough.
add ghee to the dough and knead it again.
Cover the dough and keep it aside for 20 minutes.
Preheat the cooker on a medium-high flame.
Divide the dough into portions and make balls.
Roll it into the desired shape (keep it a little thick)
Apply little water on Rotis so that they stick easily to the cooker.
The cooker is preheated and ready to use. Stick the rotis carefully to the cooker. (Water applied side down)
Cover it with a lid and let it cook like a tandoor. Once the bubbles come on the rotis, flip the cooker upside down on the flame for proper cooking
Flip it sideways and cook for a while. And your tandoori rotis are ready to serve.
you can easily make 4-5 rotis at once with this method.
Serve hot rotis smeared with butter or ghee, with any gravy of your choice.
