Tawa paneer is a unique and new recipe of paneer, to go with ghee rice, roti or naan. If you want to serve it as a starter then make it dry. Or you can serve it as a side dish for naan or roti by adding a little water to make some gravy. Tastes awesome in both ways.
Ingredients
2 to 3 tsp oil
1 tsp butter
1 tsp jeera/ cumin seeds
1 slit green chilli
1 onion chopped
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 cup capsicum cut into Julians
200 gms paneer
1 chopped tomato
1/2 tsp haldi/turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp coriander powder/dhania powder
2 tsp kasuri methi/ dry fenugreek leaves
1 tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
Pinch of sugar
Chopped coriander leaves
To make the paste:
1/2 cup curds
7 to 8 cashew nuts
2 tbsp malai / fresh cream
Make a smooth paste of the above ingredients and keep aside.
Procedure
Heat a pan/ Tawa, Put oil and butter. Add jeera, slit green chillies and chopped onions.
Fry for 5 minutes till the onions turn translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes.
Add capsicum and paneer cut into cubes, and fry for a minute.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook on a medium flame.
Now push the veggies towards the edge of the tawa. Put haldi, red chilli and dhania powders in the centre of the Tava. Put the prepared curd paste, and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
Once the oil is released in the gravy mix the veggies and paneer with it.
Add the salt, sugar,kasuri methi and garam masala powder. Mix everything well and cook further for 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
Serve hot with ghee rice ,roti or naan.
